A letter from the owner
Dear Couples and Families,
Thank you for considering 102 S. Cherry Street as the setting for one of the most meaningful days of your life.
This building holds a special place in my heart. Located in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem, it blends timeless character with the warmth and charm that makes it a truly unforgettable place to gather, celebrate, and create memories. Over the years, it has been carefully cared for and thoughtfully prepared to serve as a beautiful backdrop for weddings, receptions, and special celebrations.
What makes this venue so special is not just the architecture or the location—it’s the moments that happen here. From intimate ceremonies to joyful celebrations filled with family and friends, this space was meant to be shared, photographed, laughed in, and remembered forever.
I take great pride in offering a venue that feels both elegant and welcoming, and I am honored each time a couple chooses to begin their next chapter here. My hope is that when you walk through these doors, you don’t just see a venue—you see the place where your story will be told.
Thank you for trusting us with such an important day. It would be a true privilege to be a small part of your forever.

past and present
Constructed between 1883 and 1885, this house stands as a testament to the grandeur of the past, representing the remaining few of the once majestic homes that graced Cherry Street and its neighboring avenues in downtown Winston-Salem. Originally belonging to James Mitchell Rogers, a highly respected local businessman, this historic residence has witnessed the city’s growth and transformation.
Upon his arrival in Winston-Salem in 1880, J. Mitchell Rogers swiftly became a prominent figure in the community. He not only established himself as a shrewd businessman, serving as the president of the esteemed Brown, Rogers and Company hardware business for over four decades but also played an instrumental role as the first president of the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, which was founded in 1885.
Today, we take great pride in the meticulous restoration we have undertaken to revive the true beauty of this historic gem. Once again, the Rogers House stands as a beacon of elegance and sophistication in downtown Winston-Salem, serving as the city’s newest and most enchanting wedding venue.
